Download Opera Mini 7 For iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia, Samsung etc.

As is expected with the rumored impending release of the Apple iPad 3, software developers are updating their applications and Opera Mini ain’t lagging behind as they recently announced the release of Opera Mini 7 for iPhone/iPod/iPad.

Funny enough, Opera Mini 7 for other devices seems non-existent on the web until persistent searching revealed that you could download it from http://m.opera.com/next via your mobile phone’s default browser. That was how I downloaded Opera Mini 7 For BlackBerry though it’s tagged Opera Mini Next. Me thinks the Next is the new name for Beta Winking smile.

So far so good, it’s still the same Opera Mini we love with a few modifications/rectifications

Old Opera Mini saved pages supported: Unlike previous versions of Opera Mini, Opera Mini Next supports pages saved by Opera Mini 6.5 and it doesn’t even need a refresh to load them.

Home Page/Speed Dials: the front page of Opera Mini now spots a new tab called Home page and this page offers instant access to your Opera Account, Opera Mobile Store and news from your favorite sites. Under the My Sites section, you get to see a preview of your recently viewed sites while the Social Networks section shows a sneak preview of the latest updates in your Twitter and Facebook timeline.

Twitter and Facebook share: this feature still lives on though Twitter share is still yet to support page title inclusion. The page link comes included in the tweet but you have to fill in the page title yourself. Facebook share now works unlike in Opera Mini 6.5 where it kept giving me errors.

Speed Dials have been increased to 17 spots and can be moved around, deleted or edited by simply prolonging a click on a dial for a few seconds. For those that have been keeping abreast with Google’s fight for supremacy with startups like DealFish ,do take note that the competition has been taken to Opera Mini Next 7 as Google Trader and Trade Stable have secured spots as default Speed Dial Links in the new Opera Mini targeted at the Nigerian mobile market.

Superb data compression and savings + speed is still in the forefront of Opera’s goals as you can see from the data usage meter

In summary, Opera Mini 7 is a delight and can’t wait for it’s official release which should come when Opera is done fixing a few kinks in the application.

Once again to start using Opera Mini Next 7, simple go to http://m.opera.com/next on your mobile device’s default browser. Enjoy and do please let us know what your experience has been like and also don’t forget to spread the word by tweeting or sharing this article on Facebook.

P.S: Opera Mini Next 7 works fine on my BlackBerry Curve 3G and it doesn’t deplete my airtime.
