QUICK TIP: If you’re looking into buying a a usb internet modem, I suggest you get one of those Huawei modems from the GLO network as they can be unlocked and made functional on any network. The new ETISALAT usb modems seem to be custom made for now and “unlockable” meaning that should your Etisalat internet connection go down, you cannot switch to another network using your ETISALAT branded modem.
NOTE: If you’re lucky to get the old ETISALAT branded Huawei E156G internet modem, then you’re in luck as it can be easily unlocked.

If you’re browsing on your phone, you might not see it as it is in image form to prevent “hackers”. You might just have to view the page on your computer

Settings are automatically sent to your phone over the air when you insert the SIM for the first time into the phone. Other than that you have to configure it manually

Etisalat sends internet settings to original Nokia phones by default. I don’t know why you case is different. You would have to configure it manually and i don’t know how to do that for your device

For every second migration on any network, a fee of N100 applies and that is why you were charged.

Funny enough etisalat connects with any internet settings but if you need theirs, you have to manually configure it. I don’t know how to receive the settings on phone.
You don’t need any settings for etisalat if you already have any of other networks before. You can use internet settings to browse with etisalat.
To check your data balance, dial *229#
Another thing about the 15MB is that, it’s possible you get it twice in a week. This is how it works for me: 1st I’ll recharge with a whole N200 and I’ll be given the 15MB. And after I might have exhausted that (the next day), I’ll recharge with two N100 recharge cards and I’ll be given another 15MB.

I’ve tried everything. All the codes. Even called customer care and waited endlessly to speak to an agent who hardly understood my complaint and had a very unuseful solution. My daily 10MB isn’t working anymore, it doesn’t automatically activate, and everytime i try activating it with *229*3*1# i’ll be told to opt out,…which i tried doing by dialing *229*0# and sending STOP to 229. But all i got was “sorry the operation wasn’t successfull try again later blah blah”. Do you have any advice?

a suggest to etisalat to start the hourly plan like mtn, eg 100 hours for a month or 300 hours for 3 months for a certain amount.
The hourly plan is not good at all cos if the network is bad and speed is slow, you will end up using less data than you paid for and thus the network rips you off

Simply make sure to buy the same bundle of data before your expiry time and your data will rollover. In some cases, if you have the exact amount for your current bundle on your phone with autorenewal still activated, the plan will autorenew and rollover data when due too

You probably exhausted the 15mb without knowing and they started charging you per KB. Once the 500mb, cancel autorenewal before loading your phone again. If not they will automatically resubscribe you to the plan again

i was having 1438MB data plan before recharging with 1000naira to subscribe for 200MB thinking that my 1438MB should be rolled over but i am still getting the message that it will soon expire. pls, why is it that etisalat is not adding it up and rolling it over?
As far as rolling over data goes, I think for now it only works when renewing subscription to the same plan. That is if you are on a N1,000 plan, you can only roll over data by subscribing to another N1,000 plan.

Kpele! It won’t waste if you resubscribe to the same plan you were on before. On the other hand, you could visit their experience center where you bought it and ask them to help you rollover the data.

How do i stop indiscriminate/unwarranted deduction of my airtime{ usually in piecemeal say N10) for unknown reasons. This usually happens immediately after recharging. I have tried calling the customer care but to no avail.

What kind of phone are you using sir? If it’s a smartphone, it’s possible that it’s automatically connecting to the internet and such in case if you don’t have an internet plan, deductions will be made from your credit balance.

These are twi different things sir! Easycliq is a tarriff for making calls while easyblaze is for internet data subscriptions only.

Are you sure you are on easy cliq? It’s possible that you are being charge daily access fees to something.
Did you subscribe for daily facebook access at N25 daily? If you did, that’s why your account is been debited. To cancel your subscription, simply dial *229*0*0#

Hello,please moderator I need your help…Now I know you said its like the modems are custom-made for etisalat and “unlockable”, but I WANT to unlock them…Could you help me identify which make/model it is so that I can use the unlockers I’ve got? The ones I have can’t seem to identify the MAKE or MODEL. I would be very grateful if you could just spare a LITTLE of your time to help me find out…I MUST UNLOCK THAT MODEM…!!!

is etisalat not having daily plan for modem? please if there is, how much is it? i think i will prefer that in case of emergency and it wil reduce cost. for example, mtn does #250 per day for 2hours. thank u

When i recharge for d wkly mb and leave the money inthe account b4 it takes any long while browsing etisalat begins to charge my mb and unnoticeably suck ngn 1, stimes ngn 2 etc. B4 i realise some ngn 50 is gone, whithin the week as long as i dont utilise the money it will be 0.00 ngn. Then if by then the mb is below 500kb browsing slows down and eventually stops. In order to continue i ll have to recharge again y? Am planning to change my sprovider if i find a sincere and honest charge elsewhere.

Unlike MTN dat issues security number I don’t think Etisalat does that for now. I may be wrong sha.

@Ama: as at the moment Glo seems to be the only network that allows you to share your data with other devices. In this your case, you’d have to swap SIM cards

@Tina: to rollover unsed data, you must have the exact amount for the new bundle on your phone before the current plan expires. Most importantly you must have auto-renew activated on your data plan

@Anonymous: Etisalat Nigeria doesn’t seem to have a an SMS code for checking balance so your only option would be to put the SIM in a phone to check your balance.
Despite the 10 daily plan is there no other smaller one or probably free browsing cheats

why can’t i make use of d etisalat free MB dataplan after i have subscribed and even when d dataplan is yet 2 be expired? The funniest of it all, is d sms you sent 2 me alerting me when it’ll expire yet you guys keep charging me whereas my dataplan has 2 days 2 expire. Why is it lik dat cos you guys are pissing me off.

Check to make sure you haven’t subscribed to any data or sms plan in the past. If you have, you need to cancel the subscription. The nearest Etisalat Experience Center should be able to handle that for you.
